A SIDA-funded student and teacher exchange has existed between the Academy of Fine Arts in Umeå and the Vietnam University of Fine Arts in Hanoi since 2002. As part of the exchange, several exhibitions, with works by both Swedish and Vietnamese artists, have been shown in both Vietnam and Sweden.
In this exhibition, VIETPRINTS, works in various graphic techniques, by five Vietnamese artists, who are also teachers at the Vietnam University of Fine Arts, are presented: Nguyen Nghia Phuong, Tran Tuyet Mai, Vu Dinh Tuan, Vuong Trong Duc and Nguyen Van Hien. Their works represent five different artistic expressions, with deep roots in a Vietnamese tradition.
The exhibition is part of the SIDA-funded exchange between the Vietnam University of Fine Arts and the Academy of Fine Arts in Umeå. It will be on display at the Skellefteå City Library from 29 October until 4 November 2007.
