Felice Varini uses architecture and the space he is in as a starting point when creating his site-specific paintings on facades, walls and streets. His motifs are abstract, often geometrical, shapes in large formats and in bright colours. The paintings may be difficult to detect at first, they may appear as fragments and broken fields of colour that are difficult to interpret. But when moving around in front of the art pieces, shapes will appear before the eyes of the beholder. Felice Varini is creating one new site-specific piece for Bildmuseet inside the museum.
Felice Varini (b. 1952) lives and works in Paris. He has created a great number of art pieces for public spaces in, for example, France, Japan, England and the USA. With his project for Bildmuseet he is presented for the first time in Sweden.
