Shubigi Rao at Littfest

In connection with the exhibition Shubigi Rao / Pulp I–IV, which opens on March 14 at Bildmuseet, discussions with the artist will be held at various locations beyond the events at Bildmuseet.

On Banned Books, Acts of Resistance, and Opposition
Saturday, March 15, 14:15–15:00
Folkets Hus, Umeå

Part of the Artist to Writer series. Littfest ticket required.

For over a decade, artist and writer Shubigi Rao has worked on the Pulp project, exploring cultural loss and resistance. Publisher Per Bergström has researched samizdat, the underground publishing system in the former Soviet Union and Eastern Bloc. Together, they will discuss print-based resistance against cultural repression, drawing inspiration from Czech writer Bohumil Hrabal, who has influenced both of them.

The discussion will be moderated by Anca Rujoiu, curator at Bildmuseet.
