Once again, Umeå Academy of Fine Arts fills Bildmuseet with two graduation exhibitions: the Master’s programme’s It’s About Time and the Bachelor’s programme’s Light Club, which is on display downstairs in Galleri 60.
It’s About Time Master’s Programme in Fine Arts, degree exhibition 2009 Magni Borgehed, Fanny Carinasdotter, Carl-Erik Enqvist, Mattias Ericsson, Jan Tore Jensen, Emma Pettersson, Stina Rosenberg and Mariel Rosendahl.
This year’s Master’s exhibition presents eight students and many forms of contemporary artistic expression: painting, drawing, photography, performance, installation, video and advanced robotics. The works address humankind’s complex and contradictory relationships with time in various ways.
Light Club Bachelor’s Programme in Fine Arts, degree exhibition 2009 Sebastian Mügge, Thomas Olsson, Eskil Liepa, Ida Rödén, Helena Piippo Larsson, Linda Spjut, Karin Meissner, Malin Tivenius, Anders Johansson, Rikard Hultman, Rasmus West, Ylva Trapp, Anna Sörenson, Lina Palmqvist and Frida Krohn.
The fifteen Bachelor’s students’ degree projects are displayed in a joint exhibition. Light Club is an exhibition that revolves around light, or rather the absence of light. This theme can be related to clichés about pale Scandinavians and our exotic climate with the midnight sun, or to something as concrete as showing the exhibition’s light structure.
